Kumho Tire Reports KRW 182.2 Billion Operating Profit in Q2... Profitability Improves
Kumho Tire announced on the 30th that it recorded consolidated sales of KRW 1.3328 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 182.2 billion in the second quarter of 2026.
The sales for the second quarter reached KRW 1.3328 trillion, driven by the expansion of original equipment (OE) tire supply primarily in North America and Europe and an increase in replacement (RE) tire sales, including high-profit products. As a result, the company has maintained quarterly sales above the KRW 1 trillion mark for 11 consecutive quarters since the fourth quarter of 2023.
In particular, in Europe, supported by new car sales effects and diversification of distribution channels, Kumho Tire strengthened its strategic product mix with a focus on premium new products and high-inch tires, resulting in its highest-ever quarterly sales of KRW 420.9 billion in the region.
In addition, second-quarter operating profit reached KRW 182.2 billion, up 4% year-on-year and 24% quarter-on-quarter (KRW 147.0 billion), indicating improved profitability. The growth in sales, centered on North America and Europe, as well as increased sales of high-inch and EV tires—high-profit products—drove these performance improvements. Kumho Tire continues to maintain stable profitability by pursuing a sales strategy focused on high value-added products.
According to second-quarter results, the share of high-inch products (18 inches or larger) was 47%, and the global OE sales share of EV tire supply reached 25.1%. Kumho Tire previously set this year's performance guidance at KRW 5.1 trillion in sales, a 47% share for 18-inch or larger high-inch product sales, and a 30% share for EV tire supply.
