POSCO International Posts KRW 429 Billion in Q2 Operating Profit... Balanced Growth in Energy and Materials
POSCO International delivered second-quarter results that exceeded market expectations this year, driven by expanded gas production and improved profitability in its power generation business.
According to a disclosure on July 30, POSCO International reported consolidated sales of KRW 9.6232 trillion and operating profit of KRW 429 billion for the second quarter of 2026. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 18.4% and operating profit rose by 26.9%.

The energy division led the gains, recording KRW 226.4 billion in operating profit for the second quarter. The Myanmar gas field, aided by exchange rate gains, posted sales of KRW 212 billion and operating profit of KRW 148.1 billion, marking a 6.0% increase in operating profit year-on-year.
Despite reduced operations at baseload power plants such as coal and nuclear, the power generation business achieved KRW 37.5 billion in operating profit—a remarkable 118% increase from the previous year—thanks to the optimization of its power generation portfolio.
The materials division maintained its growth momentum, with operating profit rising 31.8% year-on-year to KRW 205 billion. The Indonesian palm oil business saw sales surge to KRW 234.1 billion and operating profit to KRW 76.8 billion, up 145.6% and 91.5%, respectively, from the previous year. This was attributed to both the inclusion of the newly acquired Indonesian palm company PT.PAR in the consolidated earnings and higher prices for CPO (certified sustainable palm oil).
