The meeting, which took place on July 29, was attended by Mayor Chang Ki-yoon of Changwon, as well as Citizens' Countermeasure Committee co-chairs Lee Byungha, Baek Namhae, Yoo Jinsang, Choi Young, Executive Director Kim Euigon, and Executive Committee Member Song Myeonghee.
The participants exchanged a wide range of opinions concerning the construction process, exhibition content, and overall operation of the Republic of Korea Democracy Hall.
The Citizens' Countermeasure Committee explained that the Democracy Hall is currently operated as a cultural and rest area, which is contrary to its original intent, and pointed out that, compared to memorial facilities for democratization movements in Seoul and Gwangju, the exhibition content is insufficient, emphasizing the need for reorganization.
