DSRV Signs Exclusive Digital Asset Insurance Contract with Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance
DSRV has signed an exclusive digital asset insurance contract worth up to 20 million dollars with Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.
According to DSRV, this insurance is designed to minimize customer losses by providing prompt compensation if customer assets under custody as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) are damaged or lost due to unforeseen accidents—such as fire, earthquakes, floods, or theft caused by external intrusion—resulting in the loss of private keys. The coverage limit has been significantly raised compared to DSRV's previously required liability insurance, and it is currently the highest level in the Korean digital asset industry.
The underlying reason DSRV proactively pursued this contract is the ongoing regulatory changes in Korea's digital asset market. The market is gradually being opened to corporations, and with recent discussions about stablecoin-related legislation, demand for custody services from institutional investors such as investment firms and ETF managers is expected to rise sharply. Korean financial authorities have also emphasized the importance of a secure custody system, recommending third-party custody when corporations acquire digital assets.
DSRV has independently developed and patented its own custody wallet technology based on Multi-Party Computation (MPC). In addition to its technical security infrastructure, DSRV determined that it must also have practical safeguards in place to protect client assets during emergencies in order to earn the trust of institutional clients.
Yuri Oh, Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) at DSRV, commented, "This contract is a move to ensure the safety of our clients' assets in any circumstances," adding, "We will do our utmost to build a reliable infrastructure so that institutional clients can participate in the digital asset market with peace of mind."
