Hanjin is supporting the establishment of a social safety net for pregnant women in crisis by leveraging its nationwide logistics infrastructure.
On July 30, Hanjin announced that it will promote policies to support pregnant women in crisis in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Center for the Rights of the Child.
The term 'pregnant women in crisis' refers to expectant mothers who find it difficult to give birth or raise a child due to social or economic circumstances. Since 2024, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has been providing support for these women through the '1308' consultation hotline and tailored support systems.
To address the public safety blind spots arising from the lack of awareness about support systems among women in crisis, Hanjin has produced 3,000 rolls of box tape labeled with the consultation phone number '1308' and distributed them to all its clients and parcel delivery branches nationwide.
These tapes are delivered to various regions across the country via Hanjin’s extensive courier network, serving as a conduit to provide essential support information to pregnant women in crisis struggling with childbirth or childcare.
In addition, Hanjin has donated funds to the National Center for the Rights of the Child. The donated funds will be used to support childcare costs, medical expenses, and housing expenses for children in need, including pregnant women in crisis.
This initiative is part of the ‘business agreement to support pregnant women in crisis’ that Hanjin signed with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Center for the Rights of the Child in May of last year, and aims to continue ongoing collaboration this year to further strengthen the public safety net.
Meanwhile, since 2021, Hanjin has been running the ‘Love Connect’ campaign, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Alongside this latest policy promotion, Hanjin plans to continue driving the spread of social value linked to its business capabilities.
