Chef Jo Sohyung, known for his nickname "Business Genius Chief Jo," has announced plans for legal action against a former employee he dismissed.
On July 28, Chef Jo Sohyung posted on his Instagram stating, "I am asking for help," and shared his position on the unfair dismissal relief application filed by the former employee.
He claimed, "A staff member who worked for a month was dismissed after harassing all the other employees, issuing threats, committing sexual harassment, and making phone calls late at night—behaviors no one should ever do. Despite this, he filed for relief against the company, demanding a large sum of 20 million won."
He continued, "In my ten years of running a business with over 100 employees passing through, I have never once had an issue with the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The Labor Relations Commission is suggesting that I settle for half that amount without any particular reason, but I want to spend some money this time in the hope that this individual will never live this way again." He also asked for recommendations for a lawyer specializing in labor and employment disputes, indicating his intent to pursue legal action. However, the former employee's official statement regarding the case has not yet been confirmed.
After interest in the case grew, Chef Jo posted a follow-up on July 29, noting, "After my post yesterday, many people have helped, and the issue has been resolved well. I wonder if this is how things are, but please, let’s all be reasonable."
