On this day, CEO Lee Taesik personally visited the shops to inspect their operation.
Since November 2021, the Korea Small and Medium Venture Business Distribution Center has been running the "Policy Duty Free Shop" at Incheon Airport—a duty-free shop dedicated solely to SME products—for five consecutive years. Policy Duty Free Shop features lower fees and fewer entry barriers compared to private duty-free stores, making it highly popular among SMEs looking to enter the duty-free market.
The 5th and 6th shops feature a wide range of items including K-beauty, K-fashion, K-food, and K-life products. They are expected to serve as an export test-bed where SMEs aspiring to expand overseas can gauge the reactions of global customers.
To increase purchase conversion rates and provide a positive experience with SME products, areas such as a product experience zone and a photo zone have also been set up. Additionally, a display-type media wall has been installed for use in product promotions.
SMEs wishing to enter Panpan Duty Free can apply at any time through the official Panpan-daero website. Eligible applicants are small and medium consumer goods manufacturers that can supply duty-free shops. Once designated as an approved business, the SME is permitted to stay for at least one year and receives support such as sales personnel assistance and dedicated display space.
