[Conference Call] SK hynix: "Future Production Bases to Be Determined by Infrastructure Conditions, Not Domestic or Overseas Location"
On July 29, SK hynix stated during its Q2 2026 earnings conference call, "The company's mid- to long-term investment strategy is to make timely investments in line with the demand for artificial intelligence (AI) memory, but to allocate capital expenditures (CAPEX) based on business performance and investment efficiency. We aim to maximize the utilization of existing production bases and are comprehensively considering the establishment of new infrastructure to secure production capacity in the most efficient way possible."

The company continued, "The recently announced large-scale investments also aim to proactively secure the production base and infrastructure required in the long term." It added, "Moving forward, decisions about production bases will not be determined simply by location, but rather by comprehensively considering factors such as power, water, workforce supply chains, the semiconductor ecosystem, and customer accessibility in order to find the optimal solution. However, except for the previously announced investment plans, no concrete decisions have yet been made regarding additional investments in new production infrastructure."
