Paid-in Capital Increases by Listed Companies Total 6.27 Trillion Won in H1, Down 24.5% YoY
In the first half of this year, the amount of paid-in capital increases issued by listed companies totaled 6.2722 trillion won, representing a decrease of 24.5% compared to the same period last year.
According to the Korea Securities Depository on July 29, the number of companies conducting paid-in capital increases was 218, an increase of 0.9% compared to the same period last year. By market, the Korea Exchange main board (KOSPI) accounted for 30 companies with 2.4183 trillion won, reflecting a decrease of 23.1% in the number of companies and a decrease of 55.5% in the amount. In the KOSDAQ market, there were 175 companies and 3.7394 trillion won, a 9.4% increase in the number of companies and a 40.0% increase in the amount. In the KONEX market, there were 15 companies and 114.5 billion won, marking a 21.1% decrease in the number of companies and a 43.9% decrease in amount.
When analyzing the number and amount of paid-in capital increases by allocation method, the third-party allotment method was the most common, with 167 companies and 3.1752 trillion won (50.6%). This was followed by allocation to existing shareholders (22 companies, 2.0467 trillion won, 32.6%), and general public offering (33 companies, 1.0503 trillion won, 16.8%).
The companies with the largest paid-in capital increase amounts were SKC (1.1671 trillion won), NH Investment & Securities (400 billion won), and K Bank (249 billion won). The companies issuing the largest number of new shares were Eone Diagnomics (389.8 million shares), Organic Tea Cosmetics Holdings (138 million shares), and Kodaco (97.33 million shares).

For the first half of the year, the amount of bonus issues by listed companies totaled 28 companies and 336.76 million shares, marking an increase of 16.7% in the number of companies and 10.5% in the number of shares compared to the same period last year. In the KOSPI market, 4 companies issued 62.34 million shares, a decrease of 42.9% in the number of companies and a decrease of 5.0% in the number of shares. In the KOSDAQ market, 24 companies issued 274.42 million shares, representing an increase of 41.2% in the number of companies and 14.7% in the number of shares. The companies with the largest number of bonus shares issued were Lunit (37.19 million shares), Seers (25.37 million shares), and Pond Group (25.23 million shares).
