The event was organized to promote the local reading culture and foster family-centered cultural activities. It featured a variety of interactive programs such as writing and drawing contests, a proclamation ceremony for the "One City, One Book" campaign, and a thrifty book free exchange market, offering a wide range of engaging content.
In particular, the festival included both hands-on play zones for children, such as a toy library and character pen-making activities, as well as healing programs for parents, including tarot card readings and healing hand care. This made it a truly intergenerational cultural event that was well received by attendees.
Kim Myung-shin, president of the Saemaeul Library Chilgok County Branch, said, "I hope that through this time for reading and cultural experiences, county residents can forget the heat and create joyful memories."
Kim Jae-wook, Mayor of Chilgok County, stated, "Reading culture is the county’s greatest asset for nurturing the future of the community," adding, "We will expand a variety of cultural policies so that residents can be even closer to books and culture in their daily lives."
