Nexon Confirms Title of New Web Novel-Based Game as "Temppal: Overgeared"
Developed by GrayGames,
Aimed for Global Release This Year
On July 28, Nexon announced that the official title for its upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), previously known as "Project T," is "Temppal: Overgeared," and released a teaser website.
Currently being developed by GrayGames, this game is based on the web novel "Temppal" by author Park Saenal. It is scheduled to launch domestically and globally within this year. Adapted into both a webtoon and animation, "Temppal" has accumulated more than 1.3 billion views in Korea, ranked number one on the Asian fantasy web novel platform "WuxiaWorld," and secured fourth place in sales across all titles on the Japanese digital comics and novel platform "Piccoma," proving its popularity overseas as well.
The game features extensive competitive elements that add the depth unique to traditional MMORPGs to the fun of character development. The teaser video conveys the game's identity—where equipment equals power—through a scene set in a virtual reality-inspired background, showcasing numerous swords emerging amidst a blue glow.
