The Shinan County Council of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City concluded its 15-day 336th temporary session, wrapping up legislative activities aimed at revitalizing the local economy and advancing key pending projects, including the approval of the 1st supplementary budget amounting to 1.021 trillion won.

View original imageThe council announced that it closed the 336th temporary session on July 28, during which it reviewed and approved the 2026 County Government Major Work Report, the 1st supplementary budget, and various ordinance bills.
During this session, which began on July 14, the council received the 2026 County Government Major Work Report from the executive branch, examined the progress and future plans of major projects, and presented a variety of suggestions regarding the implementation of policies that residents can feel, as well as efficient financial management strategies.
The 1st supplementary budget approved this time totals 1.021 trillion won, an increase of 284 billion won (38.5%) compared to the original budget.
The expanded budget will be focused mainly on revitalizing the local economy and ensuring the smooth completion of large-scale projects by the end of this year. The county expects this will accelerate the resolution of local issues and improvements in residents’ living conditions.
During the budget review process, the council thoroughly examined the appropriateness of the allocations and execution plans for each project, and urged the executive branch to ensure that efficient budget execution leads to tangible improvements in residents’ quality of life.
In addition, by reviewing and approving various ordinance bills, the council strengthened the institutional foundations of county administration and actively advanced policies for local development.
