The Special Committee on Public Property Management Plan of Haenam County Council has approved plans for the acquisition of key properties after conducting an on-site, detail-oriented review.
According to Haenam County Council on July 28, the Special Committee on Public Property Management Plan reviewed the "2026 Third Interim Public Property Management Plan," which was submitted as an agenda item for the 352nd extraordinary session.
This plan includes a total of four acquisition proposals, such as the "Land Purchase for the Haenam-eup Miam Intersection Public Parking Lot Project."
During the review process, committee members did not limit themselves to document review; they visited the relevant sites in person. The members visited the planned location for the Miam Intersection Public Parking Lot in Haenam-eup, as well as the road plot in Gugyo-ri proposed for donation to the county, where they received updates from the responsible departments and thoroughly examined the necessity and suitability of each project from multiple perspectives.
In the following second special committee meeting, a careful review led to partial amendment and approval of some agenda items. The "Road Donation in Gugyo-ri, Haenam-eup" item was excluded as it was deemed to require further re-examination regarding the feasibility and appropriateness of the project, while the remaining items, including the land purchase for the Miam Intersection Public Parking Lot, were approved as originally proposed.

Kim Mikyung, Chair of the Special Committee on Public Property Management Plan, stated, "The acquisition of public property is directly tied to the property of the residents, so the need for each project, as well as the appropriateness of acquisition, must be the highest priority," adding, "Based on the preliminary reports and the results of our on-site inspections, the committee members and I conducted a very careful review."
