Lee Jang-woo Unanimously Nominated as People Power Party Daejeon Provincial Chairman
Final Decision to Be Made Pending Approval by the Central Supreme Council
Former Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo was nominated as the next Chairman of the People Power Party's Daejeon Provincial Party on July 28.
The People Power Party Daejeon Provincial Party (Chairman Lee Eun-kwon) held its 26th executive committee meeting at 3:00 p.m. that day, where former Mayor Lee was unanimously nominated as the next provincial party chairman.
Previously, the Central Supreme Council of the People Power Party had resolved to hold regular conventions for all city and provincial party branches nationwide by July 29 to elect their respective chairpersons. The Daejeon Provincial Party announced a candidate recruitment notice from July 20 to 21 and accepted candidate registrations on July 22.
As a result of the registration, former Daejeon Mayor Lee was the sole applicant.

Due to health reasons, Chairman Lee Eun-kwon was unable to attend the meeting but conveyed his gratitude and requests through a written address. He stated, "I sincerely thank all members of the executive committee for their support. I hope under the leadership of Chairman Lee Jang-woo, the Daejeon Provincial Party will achieve even greater unity and strength."
