Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) is accelerating the revitalization of the local economy, as the cosmetics industry cluster, a driving force for the region's future growth, begins full-scale operations, attracts large-scale investments, and fosters a culture of warm sharing.
On July 28, Gyeongsan City announced that the first resident company of the Gyeongsan Cosmetics Industry Cluster, Bionotech Co., Ltd., held a completion ceremony for its new factory within the cluster.
Bionotech Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Yumi), a company specializing in the development of advanced cosmetic ingredients and products based on proprietary nano drug delivery technology, invested a total of 22.6 billion won to build a factory with a gross floor area of 8,654 square meters on a 6,583 square meter site.
By establishing GMP facilities capable of producing everything from raw materials to finished cosmetics and health functional foods, the regional cosmetics industry has officially entered the stage of full-scale production.
On the same day, Bionotech Co., Ltd. also contributed to mutual growth by donating a scholarship of 10 million won to the Gyeongsan Scholarship Foundation in support of talent development.
Also on July 28, Gyeongsan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MRI Innovation Co., Ltd., a promising small but strong enterprise specializing in cosmetics, for an investment of 10 billion won.
MRI Innovation Co., Ltd., which operates the flagship brand “THESERA,” plans to establish a new factory and production facilities on a 6,618 square meter site within the specialized cluster.
This investment is expected to serve as a powerful catalyst for activating the cluster and attracting subsequent companies.
The culture of corporate philanthropy in the local community is also gaining momentum.
On July 27, a ceremony was held at Gyeongsan City Hall to welcome SDG Entech Co., Ltd. (CEO Oh Daeguk), an automotive parts manufacturer, as the fourth “Gyeongsan City Honorary Donor Company.”
This honorary donor company program is a high-value corporate giving initiative in which companies donate or pledge at least 100 million won through the Community Chest of Korea.
SDG Entech Co., Ltd., which had previously been selected as a Gyeongsan Hope Enterprise for the fourth quarter of 2025, has promised to continue its robust local social contribution activities by joining the program.
