Producer Yongho Cho, Director of TBC's "Show Show Show," Passes Away
Wrote Lyrics for Songs Including "White Handkerchief"
Producer Yongho Cho, who directed TBC's flagship music program "Show Show Show" for nearly 10 years, passed away on July 28. He was 87.
According to his family, he died peacefully that morning after a long illness.
Born in 1939 in Daegu, Cho graduated from Kyunggi High School and studied aesthetics at Seoul National University. As the director of "Show Show Show" at TBC, he was a pioneer in the production of variety and music programs in Korean broadcasting.
He later served as head of production at TBC; as assistant director of entertainment at KBS; and as a production committee member at MBC and SBS. He also held positions as head of production and executive director at the music channel Mnet.
Cho was also a lyricist, penning the words to Twin Folio's "White Handkerchief," Jeong Hunhee and Kim Taehwa's "We Are One," and Park Kyunghee's "Wherever You Stay," among others.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Eunae. The funeral will be held in Room 10 of Yonsei University Severance Hospital Funeral Hall. The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. on July 30.
