SAIP Expands Digital News Content Copyright Protection Business
Integrated Support from Unauthorized Use Monitoring to Legal Action and Contract Execution
SAIP Co., Ltd. will launch a "News Content Copyright Integrated Management Service," which offers a one-stop solution covering the entire process from detection to payment collection in response to the unauthorized use of news content in digital environments.
Due to the rapid growth of short-form and video platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, news content is being widely circulated in edited and reprocessed forms, resulting in a surge of copyright infringement cases. However, it is difficult for rights holders to monitor thousands of channels and pursue legal actions on their own, given the hurdles of both manpower and cost. Even if infringement is detected, it is often challenging to exercise rights in practice because each stage—evidence collection, sending warning letters, negotiation, and contract agreement—must be handled separately.
SAIP continuously tracks the unauthorized use of clients' intellectual property across major digital platforms with its proprietary monitoring system. When infringement is detected, SAIP systematically collects and preserves evidence, issues notifications and warnings to infringers, manages fee negotiations, transitions unauthorized content to legitimate license agreements, and oversees revenue distribution throughout the lifecycle in a consistent manner.
The core feature of this service is that it goes beyond simply identifying infringement to achieving “monetization” as a result. By converting unauthorized use into legal usage contracts, media companies and content rights holders can not only strengthen copyright protection but also actually secure revenue from content utilization that they previously could not recover.
On the operational side, SAIP has established a detection pipeline that integrates professional monitoring software with dedicated personnel, and provides practical legal support—such as issuing warning letters, handling disputes, and reviewing contracts—through close collaboration with a network of legal experts.
SAIP’s integrated management model, which combines a technology-driven detection network with legal expertise, is being evaluated as a practical solution to long-standing challenges in the media industry.
Cheolgu Kim, CEO of SAIP Co., Ltd., stated, "The speed at which news content is distributed in the platform ecosystem already outpaces the response speed of rights holders. Our goal is to connect all processes—from detection to monetization—in an automated and systematic service so that media companies and content owners can fully recover legitimate copyright revenue while focusing on their core work."
