NVIDIA's global artificial intelligence (AI) security consortium, the "Open Secure AI Alliance," launched in collaboration with major big tech and cybersecurity companies, now includes participation from Naver and SK Telecom. As AI security threats are spreading rapidly, the early inclusion of Korean companies in the alliance is expected to positively influence the pursuit of leadership within the AI ecosystem.
On July 27, NVIDIA announced the launch of the Open Secure AI Alliance to strengthen AI safety and cybersecurity. The alliance plans to jointly develop and share open models, agent harnesses, and security tools focused on its members, in order to support the use of AI and enhance trustworthiness.
The alliance has attracted a significant number of founding partners representing the cloud computing, cybersecurity, enterprise software, open-source foundations, and AI research sectors. Approximately 40 organizations, including NVIDIA, Adobe, Cisco, and Microsoft, are participating and have agreed to develop and share open technologies, techniques, and tools to protect software and agents.

SK Telecom plans to address and share security vulnerabilities through its involvement in the group as it expands its AI data centers and AI services. As a company operating communication networks and AI infrastructure, it can collaborate on establishing standards for secure AI infrastructure. NAVER, which develops its own AI and operates related services, will leverage its experience in the open-source AI ecosystem to support the development of AI security technologies. The participation of Korean companies in a consultative body studying global AI security norms and open technology standards is expected to strengthen their leadership position within the global AI ecosystem.
NVIDIA explained that the alliance’s member companies will collaborate on the joint development of open-source security technologies to help safely operate AI applications, agents, and infrastructure. The open-source research project "NOOA," designed to make AI agents easier and more reliable to develop, is also available on GitHub; this project can improve accessibility to advanced AI safety features through agent harnesses.
With recent AI threats surging, security alliances—such as Anthropic’s "Project Glasswing"—are being established one after another. Amid this trend, NVIDIA emphasized its position that it resists efforts to use AI technologies as strategic, closed assets and that advancement should be based around open ecosystems.

NVIDIA stated, "Imposing blanket restrictions on state-of-the-art open AI systems weakens defensive capabilities and risks concentrating authority, dependency, and vulnerabilities in a handful of closed providers." The company stressed, "Businesses and governments must invest in shared open infrastructure for AI defense—including datasets, evaluation frameworks, attack simulators, and red team tools—just as previous generations invested in open-source software."
