The "Korean Express" Chan Ho Park has achieved his dream—he has become an investor in the Oakland Athletics, a Major League Baseball (MLB) team in the United States.
On July 27, Team61 signed a strategic partnership with the Athletics at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and invested $70 million (approximately KRW 102.8 billion) in the club. For the first time, Korean capital has acquired a stake in a Major League Baseball team. To date, $55 million of the investment has been completed, and the remaining $15 million will be finalized pending approval by the MLB office.

John Fisher, owner of the Athletics, also attended the event as a speaker. Through this partnership, Chan Ho Park will join as the Athletics owner John Fisher's Senior Advisor. Looking ahead, he will serve as a consultant not only for player development but also for formulating and advancing strategies across the Asian region.
Chan Ho Park has secured more than a 3% stake in the club. He stated, "Becoming an MLB club owner has been my lifelong dream," adding, "Although I do not have managerial control, as Senior Advisor I will exert influence on scouting, pitcher development, and establishing a new fan base for the club."
