Galaxy, an artificial intelligence (AI) drug development company, announced on the 28th that Taeyong Park, Executive Vice President, has been appointed as the new CEO, and that the company will shift to a co-CEO system with current CEO Seok Chaok. This organizational restructuring aims to strengthen the foundation for long-term growth and prepare for an initial public offering (IPO) targeted for the end of 2027.

View original imageThe new CEO, Park, holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from KAIST and a doctorate from the Department of Chemistry at Seoul National University. Together with CEO Seok, he co-founded the company and has been responsible for investments, management, and business development. Under the co-CEO system, CEO Seok will oversee long-term vision and technology strategy, while CEO Park will take charge of research and development (R&D), commercialization, and overall company operations.
Galaxy has also established a C-level management structure for technology, AI, and finance. Co-founder Jonghun Won has assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Executive Vice President Jin Sol Yang serves as Chief AI Officer (CAIO). In May, the company recruited Sunghyun Kim as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to strengthen the firm's financial strategy and capital market response capabilities.
CEO Seok stated, "We have adopted the co-CEO structure to clarify roles and responsibilities and speed up decision-making at a time when the advancement of our AI platform, new drug development, global business expansion, and IPO preparations are all happening simultaneously." CEO Park commented, "Based on our proprietary AI technology and drug discovery capabilities, we aim to deliver breakthrough therapeutics and grow into a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry."
