"Learning and Growing Together"... Gyeongnam Youth Camping Competition Concludes Successfully

Fostering Community Spirit, Consideration, and Communication Skills Through Diverse Experiential Activities
The "2nd Youth Organization Student Camping Competition" was held at the Hwangseoksan Youth Training Center for three days and two nights from July 24 to July 26, 2026.
This event was sponsored by the Gyeongsangnamdo Office of Education and organized by the Korea Scout Gyeongnam Federation.
A total of 150 participants, including 120 elementary, middle, and high school students and 30 leaders from the Korea Scout, Girl Scouts, and Korea Youth Federation, took part in the competition.
The students participated in a variety of experiential programs, such as archery survival games, making their own clothes, paracord crafts, disc golf, water sledding, and swimming, fostering a spirit of challenge and a sense of teamwork.
In particular, through outdoor group activities, they had meaningful opportunities to communicate and cooperate with their peers, learning about consideration and the spirit of community.

Participant Heo Jayoung, a third-year student at Jinrye Middle School, shared, "By engaging in a variety of activities with friends from different youth organizations, I was able to learn a lot and create great memories," adding, "I definitely want to join again with my friends next year."
The Korea Scout Gyeongnam Federation plans to continue close cooperation with the Gyeongnam Office of Education in the future, preparing for the 3rd Youth Organization Student Camping Competition in 2027 so that even more local youths can cultivate a generous spirit and sense of community through diverse experiential activities.
As young people become more accustomed to digital environments, the value of camping, where they live together in nature and learn about cooperation and consideration, is growing even greater.
