Veteran golfer Jin Jieun has risen to 36th in the world rankings.
On July 28 (local Korean time), the official weekly women's golf world rankings were announced, with Jin Jieun earning 2.34 points and making a remarkable leap of 62 places from last week's 98th place. She boosted her ranking points by winning the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open (total prize money of 2 million dollars) held the previous day at Dundonald Links (par 72) in North Ayrshire, Scotland, as part of the LPGA Tour.

View original imageThis marks Jin Jieun's second career win, coming 10 years and 2 months after her first victory at the 2016 Texas Shootout in the United States. Following the recent wins by Yoo Hae-ran at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship and the Amundi Evian Championship, Korean players have now claimed victories in three consecutive LPGA Tour events.
There have been no changes at the top of the rankings. Nelly Korda (USA), Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand), Yoo Hae-ran, Kim Hyo-joo, and Lottie Woad (England) remain in the top 5. They are followed by Miyu Yamashita (Japan), Charley Hull (England), Yin Ruoning (China), Hannah Green (Australia), and Kim Se-young, who occupy the 6th to 10th spots.

Lydia Ko (New Zealand) and Lee Minjee (Australia) are tied at 13th, Kim Min-sol is ranked 16th, Yoon Yina is 20th, and Choi Hyejin holds the 22nd position. Kim Ah-rim, who finished runner-up at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open, jumped eight spots to 24th. Im Jinhee is 26th, Lee Somi is 37th, Jeon Inji is 42nd, Hwang Yoomin is 44th, and Yoo Hyunjo rounds out the list at 45th.
