ABL Life Insurance Holds Performance Sharing Event for Independence-Preparing Youth Future Planning Support Project
Woori Financial Group’s ABL Life Insurance has successfully concluded the 'With Woori A Better Life Project', a program that has been running for the past eight months to support the successful social settlement of 100 young adults preparing for self-reliance.
This project started with a kick-off ceremony in December last year and continued for eight months through July this year. On July 25, ABL Life Insurance held a performance sharing event at the auditorium of the ABL Tower in Yeouido, Seoul, where it shared the results of the project operation and the changes experienced by participating youth.
The 'With Woori A Better Life Project' is an integrated support initiative designed to address the financial vulnerability of young adults who must become independent at an early age and to help them plan their own futures. By linking specialized financial education, financial counseling, and future planning funds, the program extends beyond short-term financial assistance to help participants establish the foundation necessary for self-reliance.
The future planning funds were provided over a total of eight disbursements, with each participant receiving 250,000 won per payment. These funds could be used flexibly by the participants for both insurance payments and living expenses, offering them experience in systematic risk preparedness and asset management. In the middle of the program, an additional online financial education course was established and operated eight times, in which the youth took part actively.
Through the financial education, participants encountered real-life examples, reviewed their own consumption and savings plans, and directly engaged with and applied financial topics throughout the program.
At the closing event, held to share and celebrate the achievements of the eight-month program, participating youths discussed the economic changes they experienced before and after joining the project and shared their reflections. The youth stated that the financially focused education, based on practical cases, helped them systematically learn asset management and decreased their vague apprehension about finance. They also shared that one-on-one customized financial counseling boosted their confidence in implementing savings and spending plans, as well as provided emotional stability. Following this, Sungmin Kim, the founder of Brothers Keeper—a social enterprise established by young adults preparing for independence—participated as a mentor, delivering a special lecture on career and financial management based on his personal experiences and offering words of encouragement and support to the participants.
