Mayor Lee Kihyung of Gimpo Unveils 9th Administration Pledge Implementation Plans for the First Time... Citizen Briefing Session on the 27th
Gimpo City to Review 97 Pledge Initiatives
Implementation Plans to Be Publicly Disclosed via YouTube Live Broadcast
Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Kihyung) is setting the first milestone in fulfilling the pledges of the 9th popularly elected administration. By making the pledge implementation plans public to its citizens and creating an occasion to review the execution strategies, the city aims to enhance both the transparency and effectiveness of pledge execution.
On the 27th, Gimpo City announced that it would hold the “9th Mayor’s Pledge Implementation Plan Briefing Session” in the city hall’s main conference room, presided over by Mayor Lee Kihyung.
This briefing will be broadcast live on the city’s official YouTube channel, and the pledge implementation plans will be released to citizens from the initial planning stage. Senior city officials—including heads of divisions, departments, and sub-units, as well as leaders of towns, townships, and neighborhoods—will attend to comprehensively review the implementation plans for each pledge and discuss potential problems and countermeasures.
Mayor Lee Kihyung stated, "Since these pledges are promises to our citizens, we intend to disclose plans transparently from the very beginning," adding, "We will thoroughly examine the pledges—which are the first step toward achieving the ‘Great Leap Forward with Citizens’—to ensure their smooth implementation."
The pledges of the 9th popularly elected administration consist of a total of 97 initiatives. By sector: ▲ 15 for Seamless Transportation Advancement, ▲ 9 for Nurturing Education Advancement, ▲ 19 for Vibrant Economic Advancement, ▲ 31 for Distinguished Cultural Advancement, and ▲ 23 for Inclusive Welfare Advancement—covering a total of five major categories.
Major pledges include the fast-tracking of the Gimpo-Gimdan extension of Seoul Subway Line 5, the expansion of childbirth support funds, and the introduction of tailored community bus routes that stop at elementary and middle schools. Projects with high impact on citizens—such as transportation network expansion, addressing the low birthrate, and enhancing student commuting safety—have been proposed as core initiatives.
