Iranian Military Spokesperson: "U.S. Halts Strikes, Retaliatory Operations Suspended"
Iranian Source: "Skepticism Outweighs Optimism"
While the United States has halted airstrikes against Iran for two consecutive days, Iran has also completely suspended retaliatory attacks targeting U.S. allies in the Middle East.
Hamad Akraminia, spokesperson for the Iranian military, stated on the 26th (local time), "U.S. attacks continued until two nights ago, but have ceased over the past two days," adding, "Since our military strategy is fundamentally based on retaliation, we have also suspended our retaliatory operations."
Regarding this, a senior Iranian official told foreign media, "Iran’s fundamental stance is to respond to attacks with attacks," explaining, "If U.S. strikes stop, Iran will also halt military operations. This message has already been delivered to the U.S. side."
However, the official noted that there is "more skepticism than optimism" regarding the U.S. decision to pause airstrikes, emphasizing that "the prevailing view is that the U.S. suspension of attacks is more a tactical decision than a sincere gesture."
