On-site export consultation deals amounted to USD 39 million (approximately KRW 5.41 billion), marking a 77% increase compared to the previous year and surpassing the original target of USD 25 million by more than 58%.
This year's consultation event focused not only on traditional K-beauty products, but also on pioneering into the Global South (emerging market) and diversifying exports in the fields of K-beauty tech and healthcare convergence items. Buyers from regions including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa—the Global South—accounted for more than half (18 companies) of all participating overseas buyers. Consultation products expanded beyond basic and color cosmetics to wellness categories, such as artificial intelligence (AI) skin diagnosis, personalized beauty devices, LED and high-frequency home-care equipment, and customized sleep technology.
Practical contracts were also achieved on site. Skinnine Cosmetic, a company based in Incheon, signed an MOU worth USD 200,000 with a Nigerian buyer. A company representative expressed anticipation, saying, "Meeting genuine buyers from the African market, where information and networks are limited, allowed us to identify local needs and provided an opportunity to pioneer new markets."
Additionally, a mobile KOTRA consulting desk at the entrance of the consultation venue offered one-on-one expert consultations on overseas certification, trade and tariffs, intellectual property (IP), logistics, and more, helping domestic companies resolve export-related challenges.
