Court Orders Chey Tae-won to Pay 944 Billion Won to Noh So-young as Property Settlement... Chey to Decide on Appeal After Reviewing Ruling
Chey's Side: "Decision on Appeal Will Be Made After Reviewing the Court Ruling"
Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group (age 65), has been ordered to pay 944 billion won to Noh So-young, Director of Art Center Nabi (age 65), as a property division settlement, according to a remanded appeals court ruling.
The family division 1 of the Seoul High Court, presided over by Chief Judge Lee Sang-joo, delivered the verdict at the remanded appeal hearing for the property division lawsuit between the two parties, which was held at 2:00 p.m. on July 24, 2026.
The court did not disclose the reasons for its decision in the courtroom. However, given the size of the amount, it appears the court considered Chairman Chey’s holdings of SK shares as subject to division.
Chairman Chey’s legal counsel commented, "We apologize for causing concern to many people," and added, "We have not yet received the full text of the verdict, so we will state our detailed position after reviewing it."
