KB Insurance Launches Revised "KB Overseas Travel Insurance" with Plan Names Changed to Suit Travel Plans
Renamed to Premium, Standard, and Basic
Flexible selection based on travel purpose and budget
Aircraft delays covered up to 500,000 won
KB Insurance announced on the 24th that it has launched a revised version of its “KB Overseas Travel Insurance,” enabling customers to select coverage based on their travel plans.
The main features of this revision are the renaming of existing plans to make them easier for customers to understand, and the reinforcement of coverage for risks most likely to occur during trips, such as aircraft and baggage delay costs and overseas medical expenses. The number of coverages included in each plan has also been differentiated, allowing customers to more conveniently choose the protection they need according to their travel purpose and budget.
Specifically, the previous plan names—“安心든든 (Reassuring),” “Value,” and “Essential”—have been changed to “Premium,” “Standard,” and “Basic” types, respectively. By applying names that clearly reflect coverage levels, customers can more easily compare the details and premiums of each plan and make informed decisions.
Key coverages aimed at reducing customers’ perceived inconvenience and financial burden during travel have also been strengthened. For the Premium plan, coverage for aircraft and baggage delay costs has been increased from 300,000 won to 500,000 won, and the overseas medical expense limit for both injury and illness has been raised from 50 million won to 70 million won. The Standard plan provides 300,000 won for aircraft and baggage delay and 50 million won each for overseas medical expenses due to injury and illness, helping customers prepare for major risks they may face while traveling.
Differentiation has also been introduced in the composition of coverage by plan. Previously, all three plans included an identical set of 26 coverage items. Now, the revised plans offer 26 for Premium, 24 for Standard, and 17 for Basic, ensuring that customers seeking comprehensive protection or those looking for essential coverage at a reasonable cost can each choose the plan best tailored to their desired range of protection and premium level.
Climate-related coverages, such as diagnosis benefits for heat-related and cold-related illnesses, are exclusive to the Premium plan. This enhancement strengthens the plan’s competitiveness, allowing customers to be better prepared for the risks of overseas travel amid recent climate changes.
