Bank of Korea to Issue up to 6.8 Trillion Won in Monetary Stabilization Bonds in August
The Bank of Korea will issue monetary stabilization bonds (MSBs) worth up to 6.8 trillion won next month in a move to manage market liquidity.
On July 23, the Bank of Korea announced that it plans to issue MSBs worth up to 6.8 trillion won in August.
Of the total amount to be issued, 6.3 trillion won will be supplied through competitive bidding, while the remaining 400 billion to 500 billion won will be issued via subscription.
In addition, the Bank of Korea plans to repurchase 2.7 trillion won worth of MSBs before maturity next month.
MSBs are securities issued by the Bank of Korea to commercial banks, financial institutions, and general investors as a tool to control market liquidity.

As such, the Bank of Korea is set to manage market liquidity by issuing up to 6.8 trillion won in MSBs and planning an early repurchase of 2.7 trillion won next month.
