Dongyang: "Woori Financial Group Stake Alone Worth About 100 Billion Won... Stock Undervalued"
Dongyang, an affiliate of Eugene Group, stated that its shares in Woori Financial Group alone are valued at nearly 100 billion won, emphasizing that its stock is significantly undervalued.
According to Dongyang on July 23, the company invested 30 billion won in the private equity fund (PEF) "Eugene W Private Equity Investment Partnership" in 2021. This PEF currently holds shares in Woori Financial Group, and as of the end of the half-year period, the value of Dongyang's stake is estimated to be around 100 billion won based on the stock price. So far, Dongyang has collected 48.7 billion won in dividends, recording a return of approximately five times its principal investment when including capital gains.
The company is also achieving strong results not only from domestic investments but also from overseas ventures. Dongyang made indirect investments in leading Silicon Valley venture capital (VC) firms, and these funds have holdings in global unicorn companies in the space and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors, such as SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic, resulting in excellent investment performance.
