Unitechno Registers Patent for Insert Injection Molding to Boost ESS Manufacturing Competitiveness
Unitechno has registered a patent for the injection molding manufacturing method of energy storage system (ESS) case inserts.
According to Unitechno on July 23, insert injection molding is a manufacturing technology in which metal components are pre-positioned inside a mold, and then engineering plastic is injected to form a single integrated part.
Traditionally, metal and plastic components had to be produced separately and then assembled and post-processed in extra steps. However, insert injection molding enables this process to be completed in a single step, which increases productivity and reduces manufacturing costs. It also enhances the bonding strength and dimensional precision between components, which is advantageous for ensuring product reliability and quality stability.
Unitechno plans to leverage the injection molding technology and quality management capabilities it has developed through mass-producing automotive parts to secure differentiated manufacturing competitiveness in the ESS sector as well.
