Jang Donghyuk: "I Will Present Oral Arguments in Election Appeal...The Hearing Should Be Broadcast"
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, stated on July 23, "I plan to personally participate in the oral argument at the Central Election Commission's hearing on the election appeal scheduled for July 27." He added, "I request that the Central Election Commission allow the broadcasting of the appeal hearing, whether it be a live broadcast or a recorded one, so that the public can have access to the proceedings."

He made this statement in that context.
Jang further said, "Most city and provincial election commissions submitted opinions recommending dismissal of the election appeal, citing so-called 'reference materials' circulated by the Central Election Commission. Only the Seoul Election Commission submitted an unusual response requesting an investigation of evidence and legal review, which indicates an awareness of the seriousness of the issues revealed during this election."
He continued, "Given the importance of this case and the public’s right to know, I requested that the appeal proceedings be broadcast live so that the public can witness how they unfold. However, the Central Election Commission has stated that it will not permit this." Jang argued, "If the Commission recognizes the significance and gravity of this case, there is absolutely no reason to refuse a live broadcast of the appeal."

Jang also addressed the Special Parliamentary Investigation Committee's inquiry into the shortage of ballot papers during the 9th nationwide local elections, noting that the committee's activities are scheduled to conclude in early August. He asserted, "If this time frame is insufficient to dispel public suspicions, then the period must be extended to ensure a thorough resolution of all doubts."
