Dukem Bio announced on the 23rd that it has decided to merge with its subsidiary, Radio D&S Labs. Along with the merger, Dr. Oh Seungjoon, founder of Radio D&S Labs, has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Radio D&S Labs is an R&D-focused company specializing in radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine imaging technology. Dukem Bio acquired all shares of Radio D&S Labs in 2024 and incorporated it as a subsidiary. Through this merger, the company plans to integrate its capabilities in candidate substance and imaging technology development, production, regulatory approval, and overall operations.
The company explained that the merger and the CTO appointment were decided to accelerate the development of its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business for radiopharmaceuticals. Dukem Bio also announced plans to expedite the development of new therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals (RPT), which it is jointly pursuing with Radio D&S Labs.
CTO Oh was responsible for obtaining new drug approval for the radiopharmaceutical '18F-FP-CIT' for the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease in 2008 and for the development of '18F-FES' for the diagnosis of recurrent and metastatic breast cancer in 2019. He also co-registered the original patent for an artificial intelligence (AI) early image prediction technology that forecasts later PET scan images using only initial scan data, and completed the U.S. patent registration for this technology this year. Dukem Bio is now working toward its commercialization.
