Hyundai Motor Group Strengthens Social Responsibility by Expanding Social Contribution in Brazil
Expanding Social Contribution in the Environment, Healthcare, and Culture Sectors
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 23rd that it was expanding its social contribution activities in Brazil as part of its efforts to pursue mutual growth with the local community.
Previously, Euisun Chung, Executive Chair of Hyundai Motor Group, expressed his commitment to promoting 'social contribution activities for local communities' and plans to invest 1.1 billion dollars in Brazil by 2032 in a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in 2024.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to faithfully implement the promised investment plan in Brazil while simultaneously expanding its social contribution activities. The group aims to contribute to Brazilian society while also strengthening ties between Korea and Brazil.
Leading Forest Restoration in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest and Other Ecosystems
In the environmental sector, Hyundai Motor Group intends to continue promoting its flagship social contribution project, 'Ioniq Forest.' The company is reviewing the direction of the Ioniq Forest Project in connection with the environment around its business sites.
From 2022 to the first half of this year, Hyundai Motor Company planted 100,000 trees across Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo in Brazil, restoring a total of 40 hectares of forest. Additionally, to ensure that local residents who previously farmed in the restored areas could maintain their livelihoods after the restoration activities, Hyundai provided an agroforestry system (SAF·Sistema Agroflorestal) that enables the cultivation of crops and other plants alongside native species.

In the healthcare sector, Hyundai Motor Brasil (HMB) is expanding the reach of its mobile dental care project, 'Sorisoso Sidadaw (Dental Trailer).'
Sorisoso Sidadaw is a flagship social contribution initiative of Hyundai Motor Brasil launched in 2014. Medical staff, including dental specialists, board a trailer equipped with medical devices and travel to schools and local communities to provide treatment.
Treatments provided onsite include oral examinations, tartar removal, and minor surgeries. Patients requiring additional or more complex care are referred to separate dental clinics for further treatment.
Initially, the Sorisoso Sidadaw Project focused on children and adolescents, but has since expanded its support to police officers, firefighters, public safety workers, and local institutions. The program has also been extended from the original production plant site in Piracicaba to neighboring satellite cities. As of May this year, the total number of treatments provided has reached over 83,000 cases.
Looking ahead, Hyundai aims to further expand beneficiary coverage, particularly focusing on areas near Piracicaba with low access to healthcare. This year, the company is considering extending support to four social welfare organizations, more than 15 schools, as well as police and fire stations.

Group affiliates such as Hyundai Glovis and Hyundai Autoever are taking action to promote Korea through cultural and educational projects.
Hyundai Glovis will continue the 'Korean Film Festival' program, which has served as a bridge between Korean and Brazilian societies through culture since 2023.
In Brazil, films such as 'Man Living with the King' directed by Jang Hangjun, which attracted more than 16 million viewers in Korea, and 'No Other Choice' directed by Park Chanwook, winner of the Best Director award at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, will be screened. Programs to introduce Korean culture will also be offered locally.
Additionally, to expand opportunities for local residents in Piracicaba to experience classical and popular music performances, Hyundai Glovis sponsors the Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra and hosts classical concerts. The company has also established a 'Judo Club' to provide children and adolescents with sports and social-emotional education.
Hyundai Autoever is significantly strengthening its IT education program, 'Instituto Formar Lectures,' with participation from local technical staff this year. The program targets youth from Piracicaba who are recommended by social welfare organizations to take part in vocational training.
Employees and managers from Hyundai Autoever Brazil directly participate to introduce work in the information technology field, deliver lectures on career and job competency development, and promote the technological strengths of Korea's IT industry.
