AI Agent Exclusively for Partner Brands

80% Reduction in Time to Internal Review

Accelerating Chairman Dongbin Shin's Company-wide AI Transformation

Lotte Department Store has become the first in the department store industry to introduce an artificial intelligence (AI) agent exclusively for its store partner brands. This system, in which AI handles everything from partner brand consultations and connecting to relevant departments to providing feedback, is designed to streamline the onboarding process and discover promising new brands.

Lotte Department Store announced on the 23rd that it has launched the partner-exclusive AI agent, "AI Biz Center," via its official website.

The AI Biz Center is a service in which brands seeking to enter the department store can input information such as their brand name, target customer, and product strengths in a conversational format on the website, after which an automated draft proposal is generated in line with the department store's internal review standards. If additional materials such as brand brochures, company websites, or social media (SNS) links are uploaded, the system automatically incorporates those details into the proposal.

The previous process, where brands needed to go through several departments to find the right contact, has also been revamped. The AI analyzes proposals in real time, connects brands to the most suitable department, and provides end-to-end feedback after submission.

The company explained that this service was developed because a significant number of competitive startup brands have failed to get consultation opportunities due to complex onboarding processes and lack of information. By standardizing the proposal format and automatically matching brands to the right department using AI, Lotte Department Store expects to reduce the time required from consultation request to internal review by up to 80%.

The AI Biz Center also serves as a gateway for various collaboration proposals. It accepts partnership ideas for finance and digital marketing, space rental, regional coexistence projects, new business ideas, and more, as long as they involve collaborating with Lotte Department Store.

With the launch of the AI Biz Center, Lotte Department Store is now building a "comprehensive AI business ecosystem" that extends support to partner companies, following its AI deployments in "customer experience (CX)" and "internal business intelligence (BI)" domains. Notably, in 2024, Lotte Department Store became the first in the industry to introduce an "AI interpretation service" for foreign customers using transparent displays. At the end of last year, it launched the AI chatbot service "The Dustin" through the Lotte Department Store app. In 2025, to provide optimal marketing services to customers, the company increased work efficiency by adopting the "BI Agent" in the customer analysis system used by employees.

The introduction of the AI Biz Center is in line with the company-wide AI transformation (AX) initiative advocated by Lotte Group Chairman Dongbin Shin. Lotte is accelerating work innovation through AI not only in retail but also across key affiliates in food and chemicals.

Choi Seongcheol, Head of the AI Studio at Lotte Department Store, stated, "The launch of the AI Biz Center is a new milestone that opens the future for all, going beyond the past 40 years of growth for both Lotte Department Store and its partner brands. We will continue to introduce AI services that benefit customers, employees, and partners alike."
