Gison Turns to Operating Profit in Q2... First-Half Sales Up 51% Year-on-Year
Gison turned to an operating profit in the second quarter of this year, and its cumulative sales for the first half increased by 50.8% compared to the same period last year.
According to Gison on the 23rd, second-quarter sales reached 4.9 billion won, up 82% year-on-year. Operating profit was 460 million won, and net profit for the period was 390 million won, both of which marked a return to profitability. The improvement in performance was driven by the company’s flagship product, the wireless backdoor hacking detection system known as Alpha-H. Alpha-H's sales in the first half surged nearly sevenfold compared to the same period last year, exceeding twice the annual revenue from wireless backdoor security products in the previous year.
Currently, Alpha-H is being utilized by 26 institutions in Korea and overseas, including major domestic banks and financial companies, government and public agencies, the military, and IT and semiconductor companies. The product is also being supplied to five countries overseas, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. In particular, financial institutions that have completed initial verification are now moving into the "full adoption" phase, expanding the scope of implementation. In June, Gison rapidly broadened its application areas by signing consecutive contracts with global semiconductor manufacturers. More than 20 additional organizations, including telecommunications and energy companies, are currently considering adoption, which is expected to sustain the company's growth momentum.
