On the 22nd, Minister Kim met with Saemangeum investment companies, Jeonbuk-area companies, and university officials to discuss ways to ensure that investment results lead to local businesses participating in projects, technical cooperation, and the hiring of local talent. The meeting was attended by Hyundai Motor Group, LS Materials & FutureGraph, along with over 60 local companies in the robotics, hydrogen, and construction sectors, as well as the Jeonbuk National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.
Hyundai Motor Group presented its Saemangeum investment plans and regional cooperation direction, while local businesses requested the government expand opportunities to participate in Saemangeum projects and increase support for national research and development (R&D) and demonstration projects. In response, Minister Kim stated, "Hyundai Motor Group's investment should serve as a catalyst for Saemangeum's innovation to spread throughout the Jeonbuk region," adding, "We will actively support a virtuous cycle where investment companies and local businesses grow together and local talent takes root in the region."
Later that afternoon, Minister Kim met with Yongkwan Kim, President of Management Strategy at Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions Division, to discuss public-private cooperation measures, including the creation of a national industrial complex for the expedited implementation of semiconductor investment in the Honam region. On the 23rd, he is scheduled to meet with Hyunjong Song, President of the Corporate Center at SK hynix.

Minister Kim stated, "Bold corporate investment in local areas is an important opportunity to expand advanced industry production bases, currently concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, to the regions." He added, "We will promptly designate and develop industrial complexes according to companies' timelines and actively support settlement conditions such as housing, transportation, and logistics."
