The three major mobile carriers are expanding the AI device ecosystem by launching the AI glasses 'Ray-Ban Meta' on July 22.

View original imageThe Ray-Ban Meta is a wearable device in the form of glasses, co-developed by Meta and the global eyewear brand EssilorLuxottica. Users can call up Meta AI by saying "Hey Meta" to ask questions, take photos or videos, control media, and respond to messages. With a built-in 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, the device enables high-resolution, first-person point-of-view photography and video recording. It also supports music playback and calls through open-ear speakers and five microphones. Battery life is up to 8 hours on a single charge, and up to 48 hours when used with the charging case.
SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus are starting sales of the Ray-Ban Meta from today and have prepared discount programs linked to their service plans. SK Telecom is first launching six types of the Wayfarer model: matte black (lens color: two clear and two gradation graphite variants) and shiny black (lens color: two green variants). Prices range from 690,000 won to 740,000 won, depending on the model. Customers subscribing to the Best 109, Best Pro, and Best Max plans at SK Telecom can choose a smart device installment discount and receive a monthly discount on installment payments of up to 12,000 won to 24,000 won for either 24 or 36 months.
KT offers the Wayfarer model with lens options including clear, green, polarized, and photochromic. It can be purchased through the KT Direct Shop, and membership customers receive a 10% discount. Through device-only rate plans and the "Choice Double Device" program, users can utilize the glasses at monthly rates in the 10,000 won or 7,000 won range.
LG Uplus is launching two types of the Wayfarer model: standard and one with polarized lenses. The standard model is priced at 690,000 won, and the polarized lens variant at 740,000 won. To reduce the initial purchase burden, LG Uplus also operates the "Mania Device" benefit, which is provided based on a 36-month installment plan and offers varying device discounts depending on the chosen service plan.
