Seongnam City Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of 65,000 Address Information Facilities... Damaged Facilities to Be Repaired This Year
Comprehensive Inspection of Installation Status for Road Name Signs, Building Number Plates, and More
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sang-jin) has completed a comprehensive survey of approximately 65,000 address information facilities in the area to ensure public safety and the provision of accurate location information. The city will now begin maintenance work on damaged facilities.
On July 22, Seongnam City announced that it had completed a comprehensive inspection of address information facilities in 2026 and would implement follow-up measures for facilities identified as needing maintenance based on the survey results.
This survey covered all address information facilities in the city, including road name signs, building number plates, basic number plates, and object address plates. The city thoroughly checked the installation status, accuracy of notation, appropriateness of location, and whether any of the 65,450 facilities were lost or damaged.
The results showed that 3,373 facilities (about 5.1% of the total) were either missing or damaged.
Based on the inspection results, the city plans to sequentially repair and replace address information facilities that require maintenance by the end of this year, while also continuously managing aging facilities.
In addition, the city plans to strengthen the maintenance and management system for address information facilities to enable citizens to access more accurate address information. Efforts will also be made to establish an address environment that supports prompt on-site response by relevant agencies, such as the police and fire departments, during disasters or emergencies.
