Korens Achieves Global Automotive Software Certification, Strengthening Electronics Competitiveness
Auto Parts Supplier Secures A-SPICE CL1 Certification
Enhanced Capabilities in Electric Vehicle Refrigerant Integrated Driver Development
Automotive parts supplier Korens has strengthened its competitiveness in the automotive electronic components sector by obtaining international certification for automotive software standards, a requirement for entering the supply chain of global finished vehicle manufacturers.
On July 21, Korens announced that it obtained the Automotive SPICE (A-SPICE) CL1 certification, the global automotive software development process standard, through its electric vehicle refrigerant integrated driver project.
A-SPICE is an international standard used by global automakers to evaluate the software development capabilities and quality of their parts suppliers. As the industry shifts to Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and advances in electric vehicle electronic systems accelerate, it has become a core criterion for entering the global automotive supply chain.
Korens fulfilled key evaluation criteria—including project management, system and software engineering, quality assurance, and change management—by applying the latest industry assessment standard, A-SPICE PAM v4.0.
During the project, Korens introduced Codebeamer, an integrated Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution, to ensure end-to-end traceability in both software and hardware development processes, unifying requirements analysis, design, implementation, and verification under a single development framework.
The certification audit was conducted by Processlabs, a German institution specializing in the assessment of automotive electronics software processes.
Building on this certification, Korens plans to sequentially pursue A-SPICE CL2 certification, as well as international certifications such as ISO 26262 for automotive functional safety and certifications related to automotive cybersecurity.
