Kim Junho of Gwangju University Wins Grand Prize at National Computerized Accounting Competition
Outstanding Achievements by the Department of Accounting and Taxation
Gwangju University announced on July 21 that Kim Junho, a student in the Department of Accounting and Taxation, won the grand prize at the 32nd National Computerized Accounting Competition.
Kim Junho, a third-year student, was awarded the top prize, the Commissioner of the National Tax Service Award, this year in the Corporate Accounting Practice (Level 1) category. He previously received the Excellence Award for two consecutive years, in 2024 and 2025, making him a recipient for three straight years.

View original imageCelebrating its 32nd edition this year, the competition boasts the longest history and tradition in South Korea's computerized accounting sector. It is held annually to foster skilled professionals with advanced accounting capabilities suited to the online era, as well as to build a modernized accounting environment.
This year’s competition, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the National Tax Service, attracted a total of 764 participants nationwide, including high school students, college students, and members of the public. In addition to this award, the department has achieved various accolades recently; for example, Yu Jaejun and Kim Suyeon (both fourth-year students) won the grand prize at the ‘2026 AI-based Tax and Accounting Problem-Solving Startup Competition’ hosted by the Korean Association of Tax & Accounting, among others.

The Department of Accounting and Taxation operates the Accounting and Tax Integrated Business Center (GU-ATIS: Gwangju University Accounting and Tax Integrated Square), which was established to realize Gwangju University’s new core value of fostering entrepreneurship. The center has implemented Douzone Bizon Amaranth 10 Cloud ERP for practical learning and is expanding AI-based practical skills through courses such as financial big data analysis and visualization, AI-based abnormal transaction detection, and AI-ERP data analytics.
