YouTuber Foot-and-Mouth Disease Who Blackmailed Tzuyang Ordered to Pay 80 Million Won in Appeals Court
5 Million Won Increase from Initial Ruling
The compensation amount for YouTuber Foot-and-Mouth Disease (real name Lee Junhee), who was convicted of blackmailing fellow YouTuber Tzuyang (real name Park Jeongwon), was increased to 80 million won in the appellate trial.
The Civil Appellate Division 12-3 of the Seoul Central District Court, presided over by Judge Jo Hyo-ok, ruled on July 21 that Foot-and-Mouth Disease must pay 80 million won to Tzuyang in the damages lawsuit filed by her. This amount is 5 million won higher than the initial ruling. The presiding judge stated, "Tzuyang expanded some of her claims at the appellate stage, and the court found that a portion of those additional claims was valid, which led to an increase in the compensation amount."
However, the court did not recognize liability for damages in regard to the additional claim related to the threatening video targeting Tzuyang, which was raised in the appellate trial.
In September 2024, Tzuyang filed claims for mental distress, seeking 100 million won in damages from Foot-and-Mouth Disease and 50 million won from Jujak Gambyolsa (real name Jeon Gukjin), citing blackmail from both individuals. An investigation found that, in February 2023, they blackmailed Tzuyang, saying, "We have received tips related to tax evasion and personal matters. If you pay us, we will not make this information public," and extorted 55 million won from her.

In the initial trial, the court ordered Foot-and-Mouth Disease to pay Tzuyang 75 million won and ruled that Jujak Gambyolsa must pay 50 million won jointly with Foot-and-Mouth Disease. Since Jujak Gambyolsa did not appeal, the original ruling remains in effect for him.
