Shin Hyun-song, Governor of the Bank of Korea, will attend the 31st EMEAP Governors’ Meeting, which will be held in Singapore from July 22 to July 24.
EMEAP is a central bank cooperative established in 1991 to promote cooperation and information exchange among central banks in the East Asia and Pacific region. Eleven central banks are members, including those of Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.
Governor Shin will discuss recent economic trends and the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on economic structure and financial stability at this meeting. Plans also include reviewing the activities of the organization’s subcommittees.

Governor Shin will also participate in the 15th EMEAP Governors and Heads of Supervision Meeting. There, he is scheduled to share views on topics such as the adoption and utilization of AI by financial institutions, the macro-financial effects of supply chain disruptions, and policy responses.
