Sangju City Aims to Become "The Center of Korea"... Announces Administrative Slogan and Five Key Principles for the Ninth Term
Proactive Administration and a Harmonious, Communicative Society
"We Will Turn Sangju's Potential into Reality"
Sangju City in North Gyeongsang Province has set its administrative slogan for the ninth popularly elected government as "Sangju, the center of Korea where dreams become reality," and has presented five key administrative principles to achieve this goal.
The new slogan reflects Mayor Jae-Min Ahn's governance philosophy of finding ways to make things possible rather than focusing on reasons why they cannot be done, and of proactively designing Sangju’s future beyond simply addressing immediate issues.
The five main administrative principles are: ▲Proactive and challenging administration ▲Communicative and harmonious society ▲A vibrant city that attracts visitors ▲Future industries that capitalize on city strengths ▲Solid, tailored welfare.
Sangju City plans to utilize its geographical advantage as a national hub, along with its competitiveness in agriculture and its cultural, tourism, and natural resources, to expand transportation networks and activate the tourism and sports industries.
Additionally, the city plans to establish a future industrial foundation by attracting food companies that utilize local agricultural specialties and by fostering the K-food industry, so that both youth and businesses can settle in the area.
The city also aims to strengthen the welfare safety net closely connected to daily life, such as housing, healthcare, and care services, to create a city where people can have and raise children with peace of mind and live safely.
By setting these five principles as the basic direction for the main policies under the ninth administration, Sangju City will develop detailed action plans for each department and reflect them throughout all administrative operations.
Mayor Jae-Min Ahn said, "The new administrative slogan is a promise to believe in Sangju’s potential and, together with our citizens, to make our dream of the future a reality," adding, "We will transform into the central city of Korea, where people are drawn to live, young people return, and companies choose to invest."
