K-Bank to Pursue Remittance Network Technology Proof with BPMG and HashKey Group for Korea-Hong Kong Corridor
Building Digital Asset-Based Overseas Remittance and Payment Infrastructure
K-Bank (Chief Executive Officer Choi Woo-hyung) announced on July 21, 2026, that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in overseas remittance and payment services with BPMG, a blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) company, and HashKey Group, a Hong Kong-based digital asset company.
The three companies plan to work together through this partnership to develop overseas remittance and other digital asset business initiatives utilizing blockchain technology.
K-Bank will first seek ways to conduct a proof of concept (PoC) for remittance network technology between Korea and Hong Kong as part of a blockchain-based overseas remittance model that is currently being jointly developed with BPMG.
Through this agreement, the companies will jointly promote the establishment of a digital asset-based overseas remittance and payment infrastructure, cooperation in technology and services related to digital asset custody, conversion, and settlement, as well as new business models utilizing digital assets.
HashKey Group also plans to review the possibility of expanding its remittance services to a pan-Asian network by linking up with the remittance network being built for foreign residents in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
In preparation for the full-scale launch of the business following legalization of related services and regulatory approval by financial authorities, the companies will proactively establish regulatory compliance standards, including internal control systems for customer identification (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML).
