NJEN Bio Signs Distribution Agreement with Illumina... Expands NGS Equipment Business

NJEN Bio announced on July 21 that it has signed a channel partner agreement with the global genomics analysis company Illumina for the distribution of next-generation sequencing (NGS) equipment and array-based technologies.
With this agreement, NJEN Bio will expand its business from its existing focus on diagnostic panels and analysis software to now include the supply of NGS equipment. As a result, the company will establish an integrated business system encompassing NGS equipment, diagnostic panels, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis software.
Illumina is a global leader in DNA sequencing and array-based technologies. Last year, it recorded approximately USD 4.3 billion (about KRW 6 trillion) in revenue and supplied more than 22,000 NGS instruments annually to cancer centers, university hospitals, and research institutions worldwide.
Until now, NJEN Bio has developed and supplied diagnostic panels and analysis software based on the Illumina platform, focusing on precision diagnostics in major general hospitals in Korea. Recently, it has been expanding the supply of its diagnostic panels to markets in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
Through this agreement, the company plans to directly supply Illumina NGS instruments to Korean medical institutions, while also expanding its integrated solution business that combines its own diagnostic panels and analysis software.
Going forward, the two companies will also explore the possibility of cooperation in original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and original design manufacturing (ODM) in Southeast Asian and African markets, based on NJEN Bio's diagnostic panels and analysis software.
