Hanwha Solutions Finalizes Rights Offering at Approximately 1.2 Trillion Won
Finalized at Half the Originally Planned Amount
Hanwha Solutions has finalized the amount to be raised through its rights offering at approximately 1.2 trillion won, which is about half of its original plan.
On July 20, Hanwha Solutions announced in a public disclosure that it has set the final offering price for the rights issue, using a method of allocation to existing shareholders followed by a public offering of forfeited shares, at 22,100 won per share. This is 20.8% lower than the initial offering price of 27,900 won proposed last month after two revision requests from the Financial Supervisory Service.
Based on the issue price, the total amount to be raised through the rights offering is 1.1713 trillion won. This is about half of the 2.4 trillion won that Hanwha Solutions planned to raise when it initiated the capital increase in March.
Hanwha Solutions originally planned to use 1.5 trillion won for debt repayment and direct the remaining 900 billion won toward investments for future growth. However, after consecutive revision requests from the Financial Supervisory Service and opposition from minority shareholders, the size of the rights offering was reduced to 1.7 trillion won, and the recent decline in the share price further decreased the amount raised.
