The 10th Jinju City Council will keep the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism of our forebears in our hearts, listen even more attentively to the voices of our citizens, and do our utmost in legislative activities for regional development and the well-being of our citizens."
Meanwhile, on July 16, Jinju City Council completed its organizational structure for the first half of the 10th council term by appointing the chairs of the Council Steering Committee and the Special Committee on Ethics.
The standing committees will be led by the following members: Ok Kyunghun as Chair and Son Miyoung as Vice-Chair of the Council Steering Committee; Kang Myoyoung as Chair and Lee Younghoon as Vice-Chair of the Planning and Culture Committee; Choi Minkook as Chair and Kwak Eunha as Vice-Chair of the Urban Environment Committee; Shin Hyunkook as Chair and Son Miyoung as Vice-Chair of the Economic and Welfare Committee; and Lee Soonil as Chair and Jeong Daewon as Vice-Chair of the Special Committee on Ethics.
The Jinju City Council will convene the 275th extraordinary session from July 23 to July 31, during which it will deliberate on various agenda items and embark in earnest on its legislative activities.
The starting point of any council is its promise to the citizens. When the determination forged by honoring the patriotic martyrs leads not to token ceremonies but to responsible legislative activity, its significance grows even greater.
Only when the council embodies the voices of its citizens in policy and fully commits to its fundamental role of oversight and scrutiny can it truly win the public’s trust. It is hoped that the 10th Jinju City Council will meet citizens' expectations through legislative activity that remains true to its founding principles.
