Korea Zinc was highly regarded for its construction and operation of the Safety Experience Education Center, which reflects real smelter work environments and accident cases, as well as for introducing its field-oriented training system for the company and its partner companies.

Since 2023, the Onsan Smelter has gradually established experiential education facilities and opened the Safety Experience Education Center last year. The center also received “Safety Experience Education Center Certification” from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency.

The education center is equipped with 39 experiential facilities across six training zones, including personal protective equipment, plant, construction, fire and emergency response. It is designed to enable trainees to directly experience and prepare for key industrial hazards such as chemical leaks, confined space work, falls, entrapment, and fires.
