Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Launches Specialized Program for Children
Magic shows and puppet plays have transformed into educational venues for children's dietary habits. More than 340 children from Busanjin-gu participated in performances designed to teach the importance of healthy eating habits.
The Busanjin-gu Children's and Social Welfare Foodservice Management Support Center, operated under the commission of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) and directed by Center Director Han Jinsook, announced on the 20th that it operated the children's dietary education program "Yumiyami Playground" at the Seokdang Cultural Center on campus on the 24th.
This program was designed for infants and young children aged two and older registered at the center. More than 340 people, including 273 children and 75 teachers from 24 children's foodservice facilities in Busanjin-gu, participated. Registration was closed as soon as it opened due to high demand.
The event consisted of a magic show followed by the musical puppet play "We Are Ssamssam, Dangdang, Nyamnyam!" centered on healthy eating. The performances were tailored to a child's perspective to effectively convey the importance of forming healthy dietary habits.
A preschool teacher who attended the event said, "The children remained focused until the very end and enjoyed participating. The event itself was also well organized, so we could watch safely."
Center Director Han Jinsook said, "I hope this program helps children naturally acquire proper eating habits," adding, "We will continue to provide customized nutrition education for each target group."
